BAYTHE uses ECONYL® yarn, a 100% regenerated nylon fibre made from nylon waste otherwise polluting the Earth, like fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring and industrial plastic rescued from all over the world.
Through a radical regeneration and purification process, the nylon waste is recycled right back to its original purity.
That means ECONYL® regenerated yarn is exactly the same as fossil based nylon and can be recycled, remolded again and again, so its infinitely recyclable.
Part of our ethos is a low-volume production with all pieces handmade locally to ensure no oversupply. We are committed to using regenerated, recycled and biodegradable fabrics and where this is not 100% feasible, we incorporate premium quality materials for greater product longevity.
Our materials have numerous benefits: UPF50+ protection, four-way stretch, compression and qualities such as being quick-drying, moisture-wicking and breathable. Most importantly, they do not contribute to the harmful waste on our planet.
All BAYTHE items are packed using recycled packaging, as well as recycled paper for swing tags and information cards. We will continue to work on improving processes to eliminate unnecessary materials or provide better alternatives because we believe there’s always more we can do on our journey to a more sustainable future.
In purchasing BAYTHE, you’re joining us in the slow fashion movement, a more ethical and sustainable approach helping shape a future we can all be proud of.
